Apple Maple Turkey Meatballs  Back to Recipes

Juicy apples and maple make these turkey meatballs a one-bite hit at autumn parties. Makes about 12 meatballs.

  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • ¾ cup breadcrumbs
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup
  • 1 ½ medium apples, cored and chopped
  • salt and pepper, to taste
  • 2 teaspoons fresh sage, finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon dried rosemary, crumbled
  • 1 teaspoon extra-virgin olive oil
  • ¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • ¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
In a medium bowl, combine ground turkey, breadcrumbs, maple syrup, salt, pepper, sage, rosemary, olive oil, nutmeg and cinnamon. Be careful to not overwork, but rather just mix until combined.
In a food processor, pulse the chopped apples until minced into pulp mixture. Add the apple mixture to the turkey mixture and gently fold into turkey until evenly distributed.
Form meatballs with your hands and place on aluminum foil lined baking pan.
Bake until cooked through, about 12-15 minutes depending on your oven and size of meatballs. Make sure they are cooked through and not pink in the middle.
Serve with Ecco Domani Pinot Grigio for a fall appetizer!
