Apple Pie Bites  Back to Recipes

Makes 16 Bites

  • Pre-made crescent rolls dough (16 ounces – about 2 cans)
  • ½ cup packed light brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons apple pie spice (can make your own by combining equal parts cinnamon, nutmeg and allspice)
  • 6 tablespoons melted butter
  • 2/3 cup chopped pecans
  • 1/3 cup chopped walnuts
  • 2 Granny Smith apples, cored and sliced into 16 thin slices (the thinner the better)

Preheat the oven to 375 degrees. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Combine the light brown sugar and pumpkin pie spice in a small bowl. Coat the apple slices with 3 tbsp. melted butter in a mixing bowl, making sure the slices are coated completely.

Place prepared crescent roll dough piece on the parchment paper-covered baking sheet. Sprinkle each piece evenly with the brown sugar and spice mixture, then sprinkle with the chopped nuts. Distribute the apple slices evenly on each piece, making sure that the slices do not overflow past the edge of dough. Wrap the dough around the apple slices and roll the dough into a crescent roll form.

Use a pastry brush to brush the remaining 3 tbsp. melted butter on the tops of the crescent rolls. Sprinkle rolls with a bit more apple pie spice, if desired.

Bake the rolls for 12-15 minutes until tops are lightly golden brown. Let cool and serve with whipped cream and Ecco Domani Pinot Grigio!
