Bacon Wrapped Sweet Potato Fries  Back to Recipes

  • 3 large sweet potatoes cut into ½ inch-thick fries
  • 20 slices bacon
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • Black pepper, to taste
  • 1/3 cup Worcestershire sauce
  • ¼ cup packed brown sugar
  • Barbeque sauce for serving and dipping
  • Coarse ground Salt for finishing

Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Spray nonstick cooking spray on a broiler pan (a pan with sides at least a half-inch thick to catch bacon fat while baking).

Wrap each sweet potato slice with a slice of bacon, tucking ends of bacon under the sweet potato and placing on pan to secure bacon. Season wrapped fries with pepper and chili powder. Bake for 30 minutes (until tender when pierced with fork).

Meanwhile, in saucepan, combine brown sugar and Worcestershire sauce over medium heat until brown sugar is melted and dissolved and mixture is bubbly. Baste fries with sauce and return to the oven to bake for a final 5 minutes. Sprinkle fries with coarse salt and serve with your favorite barbeque sauce for dipping!
