DIY Floral Pumpkin Centerpiece

  Back to DIY Projects

  • Medium or large pumpkin
  • Flowers – a colorful bouquet really pops!
  • Cream paint with matte finish
  • Foam craft paint brush
  • Newspaper
  • Wet floral foam
  • Scissors
  • Wet tape (floral department)
  • Carving knife for pumpkin

Cover work surface with newspaper. Carve stem/top off pumpkin as if you were making a jack o’ lantern. Scoop out the inside and clean well, getting rid of all the seeds. Discard the top/stem.

Paint pumpkin using foam craft brush. Will probably need two coats, so paint second coat after first coat is dry. Let both coats dry completely.

Cut wet floral foam in a square wedge that will fit perfectly in the circular hole in the top of the pumpkin. Secure with wet tape if needed.

Cut the stems of the flowers to desired length. Wet the foam and pierce and arrange the flowers using the foam to secure the stems and keep each flower in place. The fuller the arrangement, the better it looks! Set the pumpkin at the center of your holiday table and enjoy.
