Italian Caprese Crostini  Back to Recipes

Bite-sized Italian Caprese Crostini in one hand, a glass of crisp Ecco Domani Pinot Grigio in the other hand. Serves 6.

  • 6 ounces fresh mozzarella
  • 8 fresh basil leaves
  • 1 large red tomato
  • Italian baguette
  • Extra virgin olive oil
  • Freshly ground black pepper
  • Sea salt


Slice the baguette into ½ inch thick slices. Slice the mozzarella into ½ inch thick rounds that match the size of the baguette slices (doesn’t have to be perfect). Slice the tomato into thin round slices that match the size of the baguette slices (again, doesn’t have to be perfect).

Layer a slice of mozzarella, a slice of tomato, and a basil leaf on each baguette slice. Drizzle with olive oil and season with salt and fresh ground pepper to taste.

If desired, broil each crostini for 2-5 minutes until cheese just barely melts. (Tastes great cold as well!) Serve with Ecco Domani Pinot Grigio at your Milan-inspired party!
