Pumpkin Chipotle Hummus   Back to Recipes

Pumpkin Chipotle Hummus is a creamy spicy dip recipe that is sure to impress your guests this Halloween. (serves 8-10)

  • 1-15 ounce can chickpeas (garbanzo beans)
  • 1-15 ounce can pumpkin puree
  • 2 cloves minced garlic
  • 2 roasted red pepper (jarred in oil), thinly sliced and chopped
  • 2 chipotle chilies (jarred in adobo), thinly sliced and chopped
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • ¼ cup tahini paste
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon chili powder
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 tablespoon pumpkin seeds, for garnish
  • Veggie sticks or pita points for dipping and serving!


Combine the lemon and lime juices, tahini paste, garlic and dash of salt in food processor. Pulse until a smooth paste consistency is formed. Add the rest of the ingredients, leaving the pumpkin puree for last. Pulse until smooth, but be careful not to over-process the mixture.

If you prefer a chunkier texture, process/blend less and hand-mash half of your chickpeas to mix in at the end.

Serve the hummus in a shallow bowl with pita points or veggie sticks. Finish with salt and pepper and a garnish of pumpkin seeds in the center of the hummus. Serve with Ecco Domani Pinot Grigio!
