Lyn Devon - 2009
Lyn Devon was born and raised in the fashion mecca of New York City. After graduating from Brown University in 2002, she completed a course of study at Parsons the New School for Design and earned an internship with top designer Zac Posen. Devon then joined Ralph Lauren where she designed for the women's ready to wear collection.
During her tenure at Ralph Lauren, Devon began designing and producing her own line of custom clothing out of her living room for a small, private clientele. In 2005, Lyn Devon launched her eponymous label and showed her first collection in New York that September. Her sensibility for refined, finely crafted clothing was apparent from the outset. These qualities, in addition to a taste for precise tailoring and clean sportswear, would be the foundation for subsequent collections.
In January 2007, Lyn Devon was named a "Rising Star" for Women's Design by the Fashion Group International. Following the debut of her Fall/Winter 2008 collection, style.com called Lyn Devon one of "The Season's 10 Most Promising Talents".
