Elise Øverland - 2008
Designer Elise Øverland developed an interest in fashion at an early age. Growing up in Norway, surrounded by the Scandinavian mountains, she was instinctively drawn to raw materials-silks and leathers with substance and power.
After studying business at the University of San Francisco, Øverland earned a BFA in fashion design at New York's Parsons School of Design. With her distinctive aesthetic and functional clothes, Øverland quickly became a sought-after designer for one-of-a-kind rock-n-roll stage pieces, creating designs for the White Stripes, Alicia Keys, and the Dixie Chicks.
In 2006, Øverland shifted her focus to more feminine designs, refining her work for production and expanding her reach to a wider audience. Øverland's eponymous label reflects her own personal style, echoing the lifestyle of a chic, modern woman.
