Designer Natalie Chanin and entrepreneur Enrico Marone-Cinzano founded Project Alabama in 2000. After earning a degree in environmental design with an emphasis in textiles from North Carolina State University, Chanin worked as a freelance stylist and director. Marone-Cinzano studied business at Babson College and worked in advertising, banking and real estate before teaming up with Chanin to launch Project Alabama.

The label's unique designs, including hand stitched and embroidered clothing, have garnered the respect and admiration of fashion press and celebrities alike.
