Ecco Domani 2011 Pinot Grigio
Ecco Domani translates to "Here's tomorrow" in Italian, reflecting our forward-thinking approach and contemporary wine style. We choose our grapes from the regions where they grow best, which allows us to create authentically Italian wines with bright fruit flavors. Our Pinot Grigio is made with fruit from the celebrated regions of the Tre Venezie: Trentino-Alto Adige, Veneto and Friuli-Venezia Giulia.
Our 2011 delle Venezie IGT Pinot Grigio has light citrus and delicate floral aromas with tropical fruit flavors and a crisp, refreshing finish.
The 2011 delle Venezie IGT growing season began with a warm, sunny spring, which triggered an early bud break and flowering. Summer weather varied throughout the region, with uncharacteristic dry spells in Veneto and heavy rains in Friuli-Venezia Giulia and Trentino-Alto Adige. A cooler June gave way to high heat in July and August, which fostered excellent flavor development in the grapes. September's cool nights helped to maintain the acidity in our grapes, yielding fragrant fruit with excellent flavor and structure.
The grapes for our 2011 Pinot Grigio were gently crushed, pressed and allowed to cold settle for clarification prior to fermentation. The juice then underwent fermentation in upright stainless steel tanks for three weeks at an average temperature of 64°F. The wine was aged sur lie for two months and then on light lees until bottling to preserve a clean and full mouthfeel.
