MARGHERITA PIZZA

Recipe Image

Homemade Pizza Dough:

• 2 ½ cups unbleached all-purpose flour

• 1 teaspoon Graza Sizzle Olive Oil

• ½ tsp active dry yeast

• ¾ tsp kosher salt

• 1 Tbsp extra virgin olive oil

Pizza Sauce:

• 1 cup pureed or crushed canned tomatoes

• 2-3 cloves of garlic (grated or pressed)

• 1 tsp Graza Sizzle Olive Oil

• 2-3 pinches of salt

• ¼ tsp freshly ground pepper

Toppings:

• Mozzarella

• Basil leaves

• Graza Drizzle Olive Oil for Finishing

Directions:

1. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, yeast, and salt.

2. Add in the warm water and Graza Sizzle Olive Oil for Cooking. Stir together the mixture with a wooden spoon until the dough just begins to come together. It will seem dry.

3. Scrape the dough onto a well-floured countertop and knead for three minutes. It will come together quickly and begin to get sticky. Dust the dough with flour as needed. The dough should be smooth, elastic, and tacky.

4. Grease a large mixing bowl with olive oil and place dough into bowl. Cover the bowl with a towel or plastic wrap and allow the dough to rise in a warm, dry area for 2 hours (or has doubled in size).

5. Preheat the oven to 500 degrees.

6. While the oven is preheating, combine the sauce ingredients together in a bowl. Set aside.

7. Split the dough into two halves. Gently stretch one ball of pizza dough onto your floured pan (a pizza stone or baking sheet) into about a 10 in circle. Allow it to rest for about 5 minutes. If the dough springs back or is too elastic, allow it to rest for 5 more minutes.

8. Drizzle olive oil onto the dough; add your sauce; mozzarella and basil.

9. Bake for 7 to 8 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbling. Remove the pizza from the oven.

10. Allow the pizza to cool, slice, serve, and enjoy!
